Venues,
Clubs, & Colleges:
We are always looking for new places interested in hosting the Gadabout
Traveling Film Festival. For colleges we are putting together a
program that makes the event more academic. We are willing to come
to classes, or have a time set aside before or after the event for
questions and an open dialogue about indie film. We will also be
bringing along more films that might not have made it into the fest,
and discussing some of the films shown.
HELLO TO ALL. We've finished our Best Of dvd, called "5 Years of Driving Around...And Breaking Down." It's available now, and can be ordered on-line, below.
MONTHLY SHORT MOVIE CHALLENGE!
We are now doing a monthly short movie challenge called Instant Gratification. Each month there is a theme, and participants have to make a 5 minute or LESS movie with that theme.
Learn what this month's theme is and make a movie! Learn more about Details for the INSTANT GRATIFICATION here.
9TH ANNUAL GADABOUT TRAVELING FILM FESTIVAL
We are planning a much larger "Weekend Anchor" Film Festival here in Bloomington, IN for April 2010. This is going to be a lot of fun for us, because we get to finally accept more then just an hour or so of short films. We are also going to accept a good handful of features too.
Before we get too many details up, we want to invite all to submit films. There is no submission fee or limit on number of films. We want your features, your shorts, your animations, your music videos, etc. We want this to be a diverse weekend of films of all genres, styles, and formats.
Email for submission guidelines and address. eric(at)gadaboutfilmfest(dot)com
We are still keeping the livejournal,

The Gadabout is a nationally touring film festival that screens a program of 20+ international short films. Independent in every sense, these films share the same willingness to challenge the conventions set for filmmaking. The Gadabout is a distribution avenue for truly indie filmmakers that distrust Hollywood and the commercial film festival circuit. We are NOT a competition, rather a celebration of what is possible in independent film and video.
Above all, the Gadabout is super cool. We tour in a van, and show
amazing films to our new friends we get to meet while traveling.
We have completed 5 national tours and have screened the works of filmmakers
from all over the country,
and the world (India, Singapore, Australia, Argentina, Isreal, the
U.K., and more). Independent in every sense, these films share the same willingness
to challenge the conventions set for commercial filmmaking.
This is filmmaking as art, entertainment, and fun.
