THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST

FILMMAKER SPOTLIGHTS
featuring:
EICAR Parisian Film School

The School has developed over the years to become a major European film and television school offering students from all over the world the largest range available today of up to date hands on practical education in filmmaking both in English or French. (Paris, France)
Eric Ayotte
Eric is the founder of the Gadabout Film Festival. Since High School he has been making short films, although there’s not much he would want to share from that era. More recently he makes a movie a month for the movie challenge, as well as music videos, documentaries, and silly slice of life shorts. (Bloomington, IN)

MAXIMUM SUMMER, The Bepstein Documentary
Centered on the philosophies and hardships of Ben Epstein (AKA Bepstein), bassist of the DC pop- punk band The Max Levine Ensemble. He’s determinedly committed to keeping the same priorities he had when he was 14, even through he’s now 27. These include eating pizza and ice cream, playing kickball, riding roller coasters, and staying up all night.(Washington, DC)

Outpost
George Cox has been contributing to the Gadabout since the beginning. He started Outpost with his wife Iin, they produce commercial work, documentaries, and short films. They are extremely skilled at videography and editing, and find some of the most interesting subjects.
Out of the Basement
Wether it’s with his bands (Ghost Mice, Tooth Soup, etc.), as Dungeon Master, author, or through his filmmaking, Chris Clavin is a storyteller. Along with a solid group of recurring actors, Chris produces films under the name Out of the Basement. Lots of Bloomington folks and locations. (Bloomington, IN)

MUSIC VIDEOS

Music videos have the ability to be whatever they want. There doesn’t need to be a strict narrative, and the filmmaker can get a bit more creative. If done right, a music video can be the perfect short film. Of course, it helps if the music is good. Featuring: Defiance, Ohio, Bon Iver, Spoonboy, Purple 7, Sharon Van Etten, Lemuria, and more.

Jamtron is the name of the work produced by Jeff Ledellaytner. We have never had a year without featuring something produced by him. Jeff has a keen eye for aesthetically pleasing photography, and a strange and unique sense of humor. (Boston, MA)

7pm:
INSTANT GRATIFICATION MOVIE CHALLENGE

Monthly short movie challenge based in Bloomington, but open to anyone anywhere. Films are conceived, shot, and edited that month, and all screened here in town, then added to our archive on-line. The nature of the challenge yields really interesting work. Without too much time think, filmmakers often end up making very genuine films that are sometimes funny, sometimes very strange, but always unique.

DEAD WEIGHT

In the wake of an apocalyptic viral outbreak, Charlie Russell treks through the wilderness facing physical exhaustion, malicious survivors, and perhaps most menacing, his own emotional burdens. In true DIY fashion, this films was made through the committed efforts of a group of friends playing on the strengths of their resources.
